I’m excited! Does it seem odd that I might be excited about a proofreading course? But it’s my first and it’s so good! I recently became a member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders, SfEP. After judging in several writing contests and critiquing other writers’ work, I’ve realized that it seems to come naturally. I’m good at it. But I want to be great at it; and the courses offered by SfEP will hugely help me with that goal.
I love learning. I’m also taking an online class “Richard the Lionheart and the Third Crusade”, taught by Sheila Currie. Sheila is a brilliant history professor and author. I’ve never taken a class of hers that I didn’t enjoy and learn a great deal from. And I do hope to one day write a sweeping romance set during the crusades. We’re talking “sweeping”.
I just really need to get Tremors published before I hyper-focus on another novel. It's almost there. I’m working on it, really I am.
In the meantime, let the learning continue – always!
Surely, the past, present, and future connect in this miraculous state we call life. In this light, history and all human experience are ever-present. Wouldn't it be nice, then, if we could enjoy each other, if we could appreciate and celebrate our differences? Let us love! Let us have fun. Let us toast each other and wish each other well. Now, in our awareness, is the time to be happy, to do our best, to live fully to our purest, highest standards.
